Joel Embiid reportedly has been without walking boot for 10 days
It’s been a while since we’ve checked in on Joel Embiid, but the good news is the youngster seems to be progressing in his recovery from a second foot surgery.
Last week it was reported that Embiid did some shooting without the boot on. On Friday, Sixers beat writer Tom Moore reported that Embiid was doing some more shooting before the team’s game against the New York Knicks. He also told a Twitter follower that Embiid has been without the walking boot for about 10 days.
Boot has apparently been off for 10 days or so. https://t.co/s46WzBcHm7

Embiid had an initial foot surgery in June 2014, just before the draft. That didn’t prevent the Sixers from drafting him No. 3 overall out of Kansas. Embiid missed all of his rookie season, and then he needed surgery again in August after suffering a setback. He is still expected to miss the entire season, but it’s nice to see that he is moving around with a boot and able to shoot around on the team’s floor.
