John Wall progressing from Achilles injury, still uncertain to return this season
John Wall has not played in over a year, but there are at least some positive updates on his injury recovery.
Washington Wizards coach Scott Brooks said on Sunday that the five-time All-Star has progressed to playing controlled 4-on-4 with teammates using a ten-second shot clock at practice, per Fred Katz of The Athletic. Brooks also said that Wall has participated in 3 on 2 on 1 drills as well but still does not know if the 29-year-old will return this year.
Wall has been out since suffering a left heel injury in Dec. 2018. He then ruptured his Achilles in the same leg during a slip and fall at home.
The former No. 1 overall pick has improved at least one aspect of his game during his recovery, but with the Wizards sitting 12th in the East at 13-28, it may be a better call for them to just sit Wall for the rest of the year.
