On Wednesday night, the New York Knicks had the ball with seconds left and a chance to tie or go for the win against the Orlando Magic. They were trailing 97-95 at the time. JR Smith made sure the score stayed that way.
Unless Smith is wide open, one would think Carmelo Anthony would be the guy to take the last shot for the Knicks. Anthony wasn’t exactly all alone on Wednesday, but he had just as good a look — if not better — as the one Smith had.
Instead of passing, Smith tried to be the hero. He took a shot from a few feet beyond the arc that didn’t even hit the rim. The Knicks lost their sixth-straight game in the process. If this becomes a theme, all the trade rumors we have heard involving Smith will become more than just rumors.
