Kelly Oubre Jr. sounds completely fed up with Philly fans

Philadelphia 76ers swingman Kelly Oubre Jr. has fallen out of love with his team’s fan base.

Oubre’s name has recently been mentioned in trade rumors. He has just one year worth $8.3 million remaining on his contract, which makes Oubre an attractive trade target for teams looking to take a flier on him.

The Kansas alum appears to have gauged how Philly fans feel about the rumors. It’s safe to say Oubre has not liked what he’s seen.

Replying to a post on the Instagram account “Sixers Nation,” Oubre lamented the waning fan support he’s felt from 76ers fans.

“I love Philly, but the love doesn’t seem to be reciprocated. What happened to this place?” Oubre wrote in a comment (profanity edited by LBS).

“And for those saying I’m garbage because my 3% went down. $till put up numbers and I’d $Till [sic] cook you. I played through finger surgery’s on my (left hand) thumb and pinky for three years, but $Till put my soul in this s–t. That’s one thing only GOD can take from me. Hope to see y’all $oon. Godspeed”

Ironically, most of the other comments on the post are from Sixers fans expressing their love of Oubre.

Over the last two seasons in Philly, Oubre averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds across 128 games in a 76ers uniform. While his overall numbers have looked good, Kelly’s three-point percentage has cratered to 30.3%. But the 76ers have had much bigger problems than Oubre shooting worse from beyond the arc.

With Philadelphia’s star trio of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George all dealing with injuries, Oubre has arguably been the team’s most consistently productive player. Oubre clearly feels like he deserves more love than he’s been getting from a disgruntled 76ers fan base.
