Kenneth Faried posts update on Instagram: ‘I’m doing much better’
Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried appears to be doing much better a day after taking an inadvertent hit to the neck and being stretchered off the court.
This from the Manimal himself, who posted an Instagram update about his status on Sunday:
“I want to thank everyone for the get will soon calls, text, tweets & comments!” Faried wrote. “I’m doing much better a little sore but I’m the Manimal I’m not going to letting this keep me down & out long! #UnleashTheManimal”
Faried was hurt late in overtime of Denver’s 111-108 loss to Golden State on a scary play Saturday night (video here). The good news is that the 26-year-old was able to give a thumbs up to the crowd as he was being stretchered off and told medical personnel at the time that he had feeling in his extremities.
Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports also relayed on Sunday that Faried’s CT scan came back normal, and he has been released from the hospital. Faried is apparently well-enough that he has flown back to Denver. The team is listing him as questionable for Sunday’s home game against Portland with “neck soreness from a cervical injury.”

The 6-foot-8 Faried may not be 100 percent out of the woods just yet, especially after initial fears that he suffered damage to the vertebrates in his neck. But the news has been overwhelmingly positive since then, and the fact that Faried has improved to the point of updating his own condition on Instagram just about 12 hours after sustaining the injury bodes well.
Here’s continuing to wish Faried a speedy recovery.
