Kevin Durant injury

Kevin Durant limped off the court early in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night after suffering an injury to his lower right leg.

Durant was trying to put the moves on Serge Ibaka and stepped on his right foot wrong, rolling it somewhat. He went down immediately and limped off the court. He was helped into the locker room by his teammates.

Durant was playing in his first game since Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets on May 8, which is when he went down with an ugly leg injury that turned out to be a calf strain. The timetable for his return was always uncertain, but the Warriors believed he would return during the Finals.

Durant was aiming to play in Game 4 on Friday night but was unable to after his practice session did not go well. But he was cleared to play in Game 5 on Monday with his Golden State Warriors down 3-1 and facing elimination against the Toronto Raptors. He had no minutes limit for the game and scored 11 points in 12 minutes, making all three 3-pointers he had attempted.
