Kevin Durant hits out at speculation of rift with Stephen Curry
Even as they bicker publicly over their chosen equipment brands, Kevin Durant maintains that rumors of a legitimate feud with Stephen Curry are extremely overblown.
Durant, a Nike athlete, took a shot at Under Armour — a company that boasts Curry as its most prominent endorser — in a recent interview, sparking a public response from Curry. Rumors of a mutual resentment quickly followed, but in an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Durant laughed off those stories.
“We was never in a bad place when I said it. So it was like, we didn’t have to patch anything else,” Durant said. “Me and Steph, we talked about that. He had a conversation with me about it. I understood. We moved on. We the Warriors. Everybody trying to figure out a way to break us up, so they gonna use that, too.”
It’s hard to imagine that Durant would trash Under Armour as publicly as he did if he didn’t think Curry could shrug it off. They’ll probably be just fine.
