There is little doubt that Kevin Durant will likely end up leading the league in jersey sales next year. His first few hours as an official member of the Golden State Warriors portends that likelihood.
KD was introduced as a Warriors member on Thursday after officially signing his contract with the team. He talked about how hard it was to leave OKC and how much he was torn over the decision. But now that he’s with a new team, it’s time to be embraced by the new fans.
Bay Area News Group’s Marcus Thompson says the Warriors sold over a thousand Durant jerseys on their site in two hours.

Expect sales like this to only continue.
There were those in Durant’s inner-circle who thought the former MVP needed to shake things up. This is what they meant. By moving to the Warriors, Durant has a new, larger fan base to appeal to, a new team, and a better shot at winning championships and becoming more popular. It’s hard to lead the league in jersey sales when you’ve worn the same jersey for eight seasons (his first season was when the Thunder were the Sonics).
