Kevin McHale fired by Rockets
The Houston Rockets have fired head coach Kevin McHale, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
The news comes as a shock this early in the season, though the Rockets have struggled mightily as of late and lost their last four games.
McHale had been the head coach in Houston since 2011. He went from winning 34 games in his first season — which was shortened by a lockout — to winning 56 last year and reaching the Western Conference Finals.
Shortly before McHale was fired, Celtics broadcaster Mike Gorman told a Boston radio station that McHale expressed frustration with his players.
Wow, just minutes after Mike Gorman told us that Kevin McHale told him that his players just don't get it, McHale is fired.

The Rockets, whose loss to the Celtics Monday was their fourth in a row, held a players-only meeting earlier this week in an attempt to clear the air. McHale recently said he was considering making a change in his backcourt with Ty Lawson and James Harden not meshing. As it turns out, the first major change for the 4-7 team was McHale getting the boot.
