Kings coach offers high praise for De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley
Sacramento Kings coach Dave Joerger set the bar very high regarding his expectations for Marvin Bagley III and De’Aaron Fox.
Last year, the Kings used the No. 5 overall pick to select Fox as their point guard. In this year’s draft, Sacramento drafted Bagley No. 2 overall. Joerger thinks it’s not out of the question for the two to become the next Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
"When we drafted Marvin at 2, we were high-fiving like crazy. We got the right guy for us. This isn't going to be a story in 3 days and it'll be definitely buried 5 yrs from now when we have the next Durant-Westbrook. That's how good they're gonna be."

Joerger’s comments came in response to those who thought his comments on Sunday implied he wished the team had drafted Luka Doncic instead of Bagley.
Westbrook and Durant formed one of the most prolific pairings in NBA history. Neither Fox nor Bagley have scratched the surface of their potential. However, both have impressed this season and the Kings are off to a surprising 16-14 start. Getting the Kings to the playoffs for the first time since 2006 would be a good first step in emulating the former Thunder duo.
