Klay Thompson does not seem all that bothered by the now-ubiquitous Internet meme about him.

The Golden State Warriors star Thompson has been the subject of a harsh meme over the last several weeks that has been prevalent on Instagram, X, and other platforms on social media. Users will comment on a completely unrelated post with a message like “Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Klay Thompson shot 0/10 in an elimination game” or “This doesn’t change the fact that Klay Thompson shot 0/10 in an elimination game.”

If you open up the comments section of a sports post on social media, there is a very strong chance that you will see multiple comments talking about Thompson’s 0/10 (a reference to his shooting line in the Warriors’ season-ending loss to the Sacramento Kings during the April play-in tournament).

On Monday, Thompson himself took some time to respond to the meme. In a new post to Instagram, Thompson shared some of the hobbies that he has been partaking in this offseason. Predictably, a deluge of “0/10” comments arrived, prompting a reaction from Thompson. He chose to respond to one particular user who said, “you already knew people was going to talk about your 0/10 game before posting this.”

“hey young fella , I’m rooting for you,” wrote Thompson. “Eat your greens and get proper sleep nightly and you will make the NBA one day thru hard work and perseverance.”

You can see the exchange here.

Thompson’s response essentially boils down to this — he is in the NBA and all of the trolls are not. That is a fair play too, especially for a five-time All-Star and four-time champion whose hard work helped him become one of the greatest pure shooters in NBA history.

When it comes to Thompson’s future, he is facing significant uncertainty there as he is about to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and has the ability to leave the Warriors after spending the last 13 seasons with them. Earlier in the day on Monday, we heard an interesting report about the 34-year-old’s mindset heading into his free agency.
