Knicks reportedly considering Jason Kidd as candidate for head coach position

Jason Kidd

Jason Kidd wore out his welcome as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, but he may be getting another head coaching opportunity right next door.

Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reported on Wednesday that Kidd has support within the New York Knicks organization as a potential candidate for head coach. Begley also says Mark Jackson, who had previously been linked to the job, has support as well.

Kidd, who is currently the associate coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, was head coach of the Nets for one season in 2013-14 followed by a stint coaching the Milwaukee Bucks for four seasons from 2014 to 2018. He also spent his final career season as a player with the Knicks in 2012-13.

It would appear that Kidd has aspirations to return to head coaching based on some of the steps the Lakers have taken this season, and his familiarity with New York definitely makes him a candidate worth watching.
