Knicks fans broke out 3-word chant outside MSG

Knicks fans outside MSG

The confidence level among New York Knicks fans appears to be nearing an all-time high.

The Knicks gave their supporters a lot to cheer about throughout Tuesday’s 121-91 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

A sea of orange and blue chanted in unison as fans poured out of Madison Square Garden in New York City, N.Y.

“We want Boston! We want Boston!” echoed fans after the Knicks’ Game 5 win.

The Knicks have yet to even win their series. They still need to beat the Pacers either in Indiana on Thursday or back at MSG on Saturday. But fans are already fired up about a potential rivalry clash with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

On the other side of the East bracket, the Celtics have a 3-1 lead heading into Game 5 of their series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Fans weren’t the only ones filled with emotion during Tuesday’s game against the Pacers. Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo got into a heated exchange with Pacers big man Myles Turner in the second half of the contest.

While speaking to reporters after the game, DiVincenzo had some choice words for Turner when asked about the incident.

“They were trying to be tough guys,” said DiVincenzo. “That’s not their identity. … Nobody’s gonna fight in the NBA. Take the foul, keep it moving. You’re not a tough guy, just keep it moving.”

The Knicks are one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 1999-00 season.
