Kobe Bryant has great response to Lamar Odom support critics

While many people recognized Kobe Bryant’s support of former teammate Lamar Odom as a genuine gesture by a truly concerned friend, others criticized the Lakers superstar.

After the Lakers’ exhibition game in Las Vegas Tuesday night, Bryant headed over to the hospital to visit Odom, his former teammate, who was in critical condition following a drug overdose. Some people apparently viewed Bryant’s support as hollow. There was rapper Master P, who called Bryant a phony.

“If Kobe was his friend, Kobe like, owns the team. He could’ve got the man back on the team, that’s all he wanted,” Master P told TMZ.

It’s unfair to blame Kobe for that when you don’t know how much he did or did not rally the Lakers to give Odom a shot, and also when you don’t know what kind of shape Odom was in to begin with.
