Next summer, New York Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis will be eligible for a rookie scale maximum contract extension, but there’s no guarantee the young star will put pen to paper when the time comes.
Porzingis admitted Friday that he wants to see some progress from the Knicks organization before making a long-term commitment to the franchise.
“Yeah,” Porzingis told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News when asked if he wanted to see changes in the organization before signing. “Yeah, that’s it.”
Porzingis was understandably brief when asked the question, as it doesn’t do anyone any good for him to air his grievances with the Knicks publicly. We know he has them, though, given what happened at the end of last season.
