Kristaps Porzingis has been working his way back from an injury he suffered during the first round of the playoffs, and it sounds like the Boston Celtics star will be good to go for the NBA Finals.

Porzingis is expected to play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The 7-foot-2 forward has taken part in multiple scrimmages this week and will be cleared as long as he avoids a setback.

Porzingis suffered a calf injury during Boston’s first-round series against the Miami Heat on April 29. The Celtics have lost just one game without him during the postseason and swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Porzingis told reporters after that series that he “will be ready to go” in the NBA Finals.

The 28-year-old Porzingis landed in Boston via a three-team trade last offseason. He averaged 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game during the regular season and has been a perfect fit with the Celtics. His ability to stretch the floor will likely be needed against the Mavericks with how well Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have been playing.
