The Los Angeles Lakers are standing pat through the trade deadline, and their fans are obviously not happy.

Thursday’s 3 PM EST deadline came and went without the Lakers making a single move. Bill Oram of The Athletic notes that the team was unable to get anything done despite making several efforts. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski adds that the Lakers will instead focus on the buyout market.

The Lakers are floundering right now at 26-30 and just lost to the tanking Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. That led many to believe that there was some major urgency for them to make a move. Thus, when the news broke that the Lakers did absolutely nothing, the memes came in full force.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka was also a target of jokes.

There were some indications that Lakers players were putting pressure on the front office to make a move. With the trade deadline now officially over though, the team will have to try their luck on the buyout market instead.
