The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring a number of options to improve their frontcourt in the wake of DeMarcus Cousins suffering a torn ACL, and Marreese Speights is another veteran they are taking a look at.

Speights is scheduled to work out for the Lakers on Friday, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype. New Lakers coach Frank Vogel was among those who attended Speights’ free agent workout last month, so he will be getting a closer look at the big man.

We already know the Lakers are interested in potentially adding Dwight Howard or Joakim Noah, so they are casting a wide net. Though, one report made is seem as though them bringing back Howard is not likely.

Speights, 31, has played for six different teams in 10 NBA seasons. He spent last year with the Orlando Magic and averaged 7.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in 52 games. The 6-foot-10 forward was also part of the Golden State Warriors’ championship team in 2015.
