Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball received a hefty fine for comments he made in a postgame interview on Saturday.
The NBA announced Sunday that Ball received a $100,000 fine for “offensive and derogatory comments” he made during his on-court interview after Saturday’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Ball had used the phrase “no homo” in his interview, which is a pretty easy fine for the league office to hand down.

“We loaded up, no homo,” Ball had said after the game.

There is plenty of precedent for the NBA fining players for use of the phrase. Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas was fined for it less than two years ago, and there are several other instances of past fines for it as well.
Ball scored 26 points in the victory to go with nine rebounds and six assists.
