LeBron James is cutting out technology to focus on the playoffs

LeBron-James-HeatLeBron James knows how important this postseason is for his legacy. Winning the first ring of his career was a major milestone, but NBA legends win multiple championships. In many ways, winning a second ring would be just as important as winning a first for LeBron. That’s why he’s sticking with what works.

Like last year, LeBron has decided to give up his cell phone for the duration of the playoffs. He joked with TNT’s Craig Sager and asked him if he could use his cell phone after the Miami Heat’s Game 2 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. It also appears LeBron has once again given up Twitter, with his last tweet reading “Zero Dark Thirty-6 Activated! I’m gone” the day before Miami’s first playoff game.

LeBron is doing all that he can to remain focused on winning another ring, but that can’t be easy in a generation that relies so heavily on technology. There is still some free time with how spread out some of these playoff series are, so how does the King keep himself occupied?

“Just read a little more than I did during the regular season,” James said, via FOX Sports Florida’s Chris Tomasson. “Not much sports talk radio. I watch the playoffs. I watch cartoons with my kids. I watch movies with the family but not much of what sports (broadcasters) are talking about.”

If LeBron needs to get a message, certain people get in touch with him through his trainer. After the way he performed in the 2012 postseason, he’d be stupid to change up his routine for the playoffs this year.
