LeBron James got testy with a Cleveland reporter’s question after the Cavaliers lost 127-98 to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
During his postgame news conference, Cavs head coach David Blatt called the loss embarrassing. In light of Blatt’s description of the defeat, WHBC’s Kenny Roda asked whether LeBron felt the loss was embarrassing. James objected to the question and then called out Roda for always asking “negative” questions.
As for his answer, well, James put the defeat in context.
“I’m embarrassed to lose in the Finals,” said James, implying that a December loss to the Hawks is not worth crying over.
LeBron has spent the entire season trying to dampen expectations of the Cavs and improve the team’s play. He didn’t get too high during the team’s 8-game winning streak, and he’s not getting too low after losses. After all, this guy knows what it takes to reach the NBA Finals and win it all.
