Report: LeBron James will not drag out free agent process

Now that free agency has officially begun, LeBron James could be making his decision sooner rather than later.

Tom Withers of the Associated Press reported on Saturday that James will not drag out the free agent process and that he has all the information he needs. Withers goes on to add that James’ agent Rich Paul is expected to contact Cavs general manager Koby Altman in the early stages of free agency.

For reference, when the four-time MVP left Cleveland for Miami in 2010, he announced it on July 8, the date that his infamous “The Decision” special aired on ESPN. In 2014, his Sports Illustrated “I’m Coming Home” letter announcing his return to Cleveland came out on July 11.

Now it sounds like James’ decision could be coming even sooner than that this time around, and that will be a welcome development given how the hysteria has built to the point that people are even tracking his movements now.
