As LeBron James’ free agency drags on, speculation continues over where he will go and how long he will stay there. A new piece of evidence suggests it might not just be for one year.
In an appearance on the “Clutch Scoops” podcast, ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel voiced his opinion that James is hoping to play two more years in order to have played 25 NBA seasons.
“I’m of the belief that he isn’t going to retire after the 26-27 season. He is going to go to a team and it’s going to be a two-year window to get to year 25,” Siegel said.

James has already played the most seasons in NBA history, as no one else has finished more than 22. Next season will be his 24th, and it does make sense that if he is that close and still capable of playing at a high level, he might as well stick around and go for the even quarter-century.
James has also offered a fairly strong indication that two more seasons may well be in his future. At the very least, he has not ruled it out.
Before we even get to that point, James needs to decide where he will play next year. We have no idea when that decision will be made, and the wait could go on even longer depending on how other people speak about his free agency in public.
