LeBron James is so good that it often feels like he has spoiled us with his greatness. In fact, many observers have noted that James records so many 40-point games that we hardly treat it as the big deal that it is. One stat seems to confirm that.
As Tom Haberstroh noted, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade each have seven career 40-point games in the playoffs. Those are some incredible names — guys considered among the best players in the game at points in their careers. And guess what? James has been so good that he has 7 40-point games this postseason alone. Just this postseason!

LeBron’s gone for at least 40 three times in the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston this series. It’s hard to believe he was held to just 15 points in Game 1.
James is indisputably the best player in the game.
