LeBron James sure took Ty Lue’s Game 2 message to heart
LeBron James sure took Ty Lue’s message to heart ahead of Game 2 of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff series with the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
After the Cavs lost to the Pacers at home in Game 1, Lue said he told James to be aggressive and set the tone early in Game 2. James did just that.
James dominated the ball in the first quarter, scoring 20 points on 9 of 12 shooting with six rebounds and three assists. He was a total monster for the team, just serving as a one-man wrecking crew. In fact, James scored his team’s first seven baskets. It wasn’t until midway through the quarter that another Cavs player — Kevin Love — finally scored.
The plan worked too as the Cavs ended up the first quarter leading 33-18 with James playing all 12 minutes.
Credit Lue for lighting a fire under James’ behind and telling him to be Superman, because that’s just what they needed to regain some control in the series.
