LiAngelo Ball filed for a divorce from his wife just days after she publicly announced she was pregnant.
Ball and Rashida Nicole got married on March 24, 2025. According to TMZ Sports, he filed for a divorce on July 3, and named June 15 as their date of separation.
Interestingly, on June 26, Rashida Nicole had announced via Instagram that she was pregnant.
“New Beginnings … Wish I had all the right words to describe this journey, but I guess if I had to define it, all I can truly say is: I’m grateful, terrified, anxious, nauseous,HANGRY 😂 all of thee [sic] above. As a teen mom, I was always hesitant about going thru [sic] pregnancy and parenthood again. (Iykyk) I want to thank my daughter for being here for me during this process, always demonstrating unconditional LOVE & reassuring me that, ‘Everything is alright!’ And for now…I choose to protect my peace and this beautiful energy,” Rashida Nicole wrote in a statement on Instagram.
LiAngelo Ball commented on that post with a few emojis, including a heart. Apparently they had already split up by the time of the Instagram announcement.
What’s interesting is that Ball seemingly has a history of walking out on relationships involving kids. His previous girlfriend, Nikki Mudarris, claimed that Gelo walked out on their relationship after 3.5 years, saying he had gotten someone else pregnant and was going to start a life with her. That second woman apparently was Rashida Nicole, from whom he has already split.
LiAngelo has two children with Mudarris. They have a son Lavelo. Their daughter LaNiyah was born on Dec. 3. Gelo signed a big music deal in January following the success of his hit song “Tweaker.”
