LiAngelo Ball: Playing with Lonzo on Lakers ‘is my priority’
LiAngelo Ball still wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The draft hopeful told ESPN LA 710 that his “priority” was to be drafted by the Lakers so he could play with older brother Lonzo.
“Lakers is my priority, for sure,” LiAngelo Ball said, via Trevor Lane of Lakers Nation. “I want to play with my brother. Ever since I played with Zo, we went undefeated. Same thing will happen when we get older. We’re just going to get stronger and faster and better feel for the game. It will be a good outcome.
“I’m willing to play for other teams. That’s fine if they pick me. My priority is the Lakers. I just want to play with my brother.”
Ball is a second-round pick if he gets drafted at all, and with the Lakers holding the 47th selection, they may look elsewhere. If Ball wants to join the Lakers that badly, he may have to do so as an undrafted free agent. He and his dad’s “speak it into existence” philosophy is on display, but it may not work here.
