Luol Deng tweets support for Bulls from his hospital bed (Picture)

The Chicago Bulls somehow continue to win games despite their plethora of significant injuries. Already without the 2011 NBA MVP in Derrick Rose, Chicago is also missing Luol Deng. The big man was suffering from flu-like symptoms before Game 6 against the Brooklyn Nets and has not been able to suit up since because of complications stemming from a spinal tap he underwent to test for viral meningitis.

On Monday night, Deng watched the Bulls take a 1-0 series lead of the Miami Heat from his hospital bed. He shared the photo you see above along with the following tweet:

So proud of my team man, this bed might be good luck after all. #SeeRed #Holdat instagram.com/p/Y_kt7YmvOM/

— Luol Deng (@LuolDeng9) May 7, 2013

Chicago was able to close out the Nets and take an early lead over the Heat without Deng, but the bed is by no means good luck. One has to wonder how long the Bulls can continue to defy the odds. They have already managed to win games with guys puking in a trash can on the sidelines and others hobbled with painful foot injuries, but Deng’s health is more important than basketball at the moment. If he’s able to return in this series, the Bulls could certainly use the help.
