Marcin Gortat re-signs with Wizards and John Wall loves it

Marcin-Gortat-WizardsMarcin Gortat has re-signed with the Washington Wizards, and his teammate John Wall is thrilled about it.

Gortat’s deal with the Wizards reportedly is five years for $60 million. The amount averages to $12 million per season, which seems like a fair amount for the solid big man. Gortat averaged 13.2 points and 9.5 rebounds last season after being acquired by the Wizards from Phoenix.

Moments before news of him re-signing with the Wizards broke, Gortat sent this tweet with a happy face:

:)))

— Marcin Gortat (@MGortat) July 2, 2014

Wall then sent this tweet to break the news:

Got my man @MGortat back now waitin for my bro @TrevorAriza…Come on !!

— John Wall (@John_Wall) July 2, 2014

As Wall said, they need Trevor Ariza back, too. Ariza has attracted considerable interest on the free agent market. I would be surprised if he returns.

One good thing for the Wizards concerning the Gortat deal is that there are no player options, according to multiple reports.
