Marvin Bagley expected to miss 4-6 weeks with right thumb injury
The Sacramento Kings were hit with the double whammy on Wednesday night.
Not only did they lose their season-opening game 124-95 to the Phoenix Suns, but they also are losing Marvin Bagley III due to injury.
The Kings announced on Thursday that an MRI showed Bagley has a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Bagley had 14 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes in the game.
The No. 2 overall pick by the Kings out of Duke last year, Bagley averaged 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 25.3 minutes per game last season as a rookie. The team drafted Bagley over Luka Doncic, which went against previous head coach Dave Joerger’s preference.
