Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley may well be traded before Thursday’s deadline, but he has a preference to where he goes.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Conley’s agent has informed the Grizzlies that his client would prefer not to be traded to the Utah Jazz, one of the teams he has been linked to, and instead wants to play for an Eastern Conference team.

That would seem to be uplifting news for the Detroit Pistons, the other team that has largely been linked to Conley.
Reports had indicated that the Grizzlies and Jazz were pretty actively discussing deals involving Conley. He doesn’t actually have any legitimate means of blocking a deal, but it will be interesting to see if Memphis cares to take his feedback into account when negotiating.
