Mike Dunleavy bloodied by Chandler Parsons’ elbow; comes back to light it up (Video)

Chicago Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy took a brutal elbow to the head from Chandler Parsons during the second quarter of his team’s win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. Parsons was called for a charge on the play, but Dunleavy more than paid the price. He was forced to leave the game and needed 10 stitches to close the wound over his right eye.

Mike-Dunleavy-bloody

At first, Dunleavy’s return was announced as questionable. Not only did he re-enter the game in the third quarter, the 33-year-old veteran lit up the scoreboard and put together one of the best halves of basketball of his career.

After getting bandaged up, Dunleavy went on to score all of his team-high 21 points in the second half. He scored 18 points alone in the third quarter, which was more than the entire Rockets team combined (16). He finshed 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and added seven rebounds.

It was an incredibly gutsy performance and one of the best games of Dunleavy’s career. No word yet on whether or not DeMarcus Cousins was impressed.
