The Cleveland Cavaliers are clear underdogs in the NBA Finals, yet expectations for LeBron James are sky-high.
Due to his performances in the playoffs and the perceived lack of help around him, most expect James to put the Cavaliers on his back against the Golden State Warriors and stuff the stat sheet himself as much as possible. For instance, one anonymous Western Conference assistant thinks the Cavaliers will lose the series, but that James may average 50 points per game in the process.
Spoke to a WC asst coach yesterday about the Finals and he said, in all sincerity, that it wouldn't surprise him if LeBron averaged 50 points in the series. That's the type of respect he's getting around the league at this point. That said, the coach picked GSW to win it all.

Expectations for James’s scoring output have been sky-high lately. He didn’t quite hit the mark on that one, and 50 points per game seems like a stretch, even given the circumstances.
