Nick Young explains how dolphin once tried to kill him
Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has a fear of dolphins. We learned this on Monday when his girlfriend, Iggy Azalea, wrote on Twitter that Young is afraid of Dolphins because one tried to kill him while the two were vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
They’re not joking.
After the Lakers’ 106-96 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, a reporter asked Swaggy P about his alleged near-death experience with a dolphin in Cabo.
“He was playing with everybody else, doing what dolphins do — the ‘ack ack’ and all that,” Young explained, per Baxter Holmes of ESPNLosAngeles.com. “It was my time to ride the dolphin. For some reason, he took me all the way to the bottom. He was trying to drown me. But I saw it happening so I jumped out of the water and took off the little life vest and threw off my little water shoes and stayed outside.”
Young claims the dolphin played nice with everyone else, taking them for a nice ride around in circles. He insists the mammal had it out for him.
“He went straight down,” Young added. “He was trying to kill me. I think he was trying to get on Iggy. He was a little friendly, kissing her and stuff. He was trying to take my woman.”
We’re not saying Swaggy P is lying, but we know he has a wild imagination. We also know he thinks very highly of Iggy, as evidenced by the inappropriate remark he made to the paparazzi last year.
Did a dolphin actually try to kill Young? It seems unlikely, but we weren’t there. Hopefully he can overcome his fear someday.
