OG Anunoby goes viral for scoring bloodied basket

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby on Tuesday scored arguably the most hardcore hoop of the season during his team’s 128-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Anunoby took a blow to the face from Mavericks center Kai Jones midway through the third quarter at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, N.Y. As play went on, a stream of blood started to trickle down from Anunoby’s nose.

The Knicks’ broadcast noticed pointed it out. But instead of asking Knicks trainers to take a look at him, Anunoby just wiped the blood off and kept playing. After bloodying his jersey, Anunoby caught a pass in the corner and drained a three.

Clyde: "OG's bleeding man look. The officials haven't seen…haven't called time"

Breen: "He wiped it pretty quickly. (OG hits 3)…It's good–OG Anunoby with 30"

Clyde: "That'll stop the bleeding" pic.twitter.com/YcEoLI7Ajf

The blood did not deter the stone-faced Anunoby in the slightest. He hit another three and then got a dunk a few possessions later.

Anunoby was in the midst of a monster offensive night and probably did not want to get subbed out. He shot 15/24 in the game for 35 points, his second-highest scoring total this season.

Anunoby has had a knack for going viral due to reasons other than basketball. Earlier this season, Anunoby began trending on social media after nearly running over Anne Hathaway.
