Make no mistake: The Zen Master is committed to his dojo.

According to a report by Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report on Thursday, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson fully intends to fulfill the remainder of his contract with the team and may even sign a new deal that begins in 2019.

Jackson, 71, is in Year 3 of his five-year deal with the Knicks. Much has been made of his 2017 opt-out clause, especially given the rumors about a reunion with his former team that never seem to go away. A very public rift with his superstar forward has also been fanning the flames recently.

But in spite of all the chatter, Jackson still appears to be unwavering in his dedication to New York. With the Knicks currently third in the Eastern Conference at 14-11 and one of the game’s brightest young stars to build around in Kristaps Porzingis, there’s definitely a lot of motivation for Jackson to stay put in The Big Apple.
