The Detroit Pistons were finally winners once again Saturday after 28 straight defeats. But the real winners were the fans who could finally cash in on their free wings from Wingstop.
The Pistons put an end to their infamous losing streak with a 129-127 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich.
A Wingstop promo went viral on social media throughout the Pistons’ losing streak. The chain restaurant offered fans five free boneless wings with any online wing purchase using promo code “PISTONS.” The catch was that fans could only use the promo when Detroit won.

Pistons fans have Cade Cunningham to thank for the free wings. The Oklahoma State alum poured in 30 points with 12 assists to lead his squad to the streak-snapping victory.
Detroit also benefitted from a trade between Toronto and New York Knicks announced on the same day. The deal took one key Raptors player out of the equation during Saturday’s game.
