Police in Indianapolis are investigating the Patrick Beverley incident for potential crimes, according to a report.

The Athletic’s Mike Vorkunov and Shams Charania reported on Wednesday that detectives are planning to review video footage and interview involved parties regarding the incident, which took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana last week.

Beverley was captured on video throwing a ball hard at a Pacers fan who was sitting near the Milwaukee Bucks’ bench during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series between the teams. Beverley was frustrated in large part because his Bucks had been blown out 120-98 in the game, which ended their season.

A report later revealed what the fan had said to anger the Bucks guard. Beverley recently claimed on his podcast that the fan said a lot worse than just that.

The NBA has not yet announced any discipline for Beverley over the incident, which even the guard described as “inexcusable.”

Maybe Beverley will tell the police officers they are not allowed to investigate the incident unless they subscribe to his podcast.
