Ex-NBA star Rasheed Wallace hired as high school coach
Rasheed Wallace was known as much for his quirky antics as his rugged style of play during his NBA career, and that same Rasheed Wallace will now be molding teenaged minds.
According to HighSchoolOT.com, Wallace has been named the boys head basketball coach at Jordan High School in Durham, N.C. Wallace is originally from Philadelphia, but he played college ball under Dean Smith at UNC.
The team Wallace is taking over went 7-17 overall and 1-9 in its conference last season.
Wallace, who played for seven different teams during his NBA career, is an interesting choice to coach high school basketball. He was somewhat of a controversial figure during his NBA career and was never one of the more quiet guys on the court, but he’s certainly experienced enough.
