Ray Allen on Lance Stephenson: ‘It’s buffoonery’
If Lance Stephenson was successful with half of the stuff he has been trying to pull to get in the heads of the Miami Heat players, his team would not be trailing 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Stephenson trash talked LeBron before Game 4 only to watch James go on to dominate. On Wednesday night, he tried blowing in LeBron’s ear.
While James and Dwyane Wade laughed about Stephenson’s antics during their postgame press conference, Ray Allen was not amused.
“No, it’s just buffoonery,” Allen said, per Ethan Sklonick of Bleacher Report. “As players, we just are professional, we come out and do our jobs. He’s young. He’ll grow up.”

Allen went on to say that stuff like blowing in ears violates unwritten rules, even if a player is “allowed” to do it.
“But, again, it’s not going to throw us off from what we’re gonna do,” he said. “We know what our plays are. He makes himself look bad. We’ve just got to do our job.”
Stephenson has said on multiple occasions that he’s just trying to give his team an edge any way he can, but his teammates don’t seem to appreciate it. Irritating LeBron with childish games is more likely to lead to a career night from him than get under his skin.
