Reggie Jackson asks Thunder for a trade
Reggie Jackson is another player who has requested a trade from his team.
The backup point guard’s agent told the Oklahoma City Thunder that his client is not interested in returning to the team and would like a trade to a team where he might be able to start, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Jackson, who was a first-round pick in 2011, is buried behind star Russell Westbrook on the depth chart and has also seen his role decrease since Dion Waiters was acquired in a three-way trade.
Jackson will be a restricted free agent after the season and reportedly told the Thunder he does not want them to match an offer sheet from another team. Simply put: he wants out of OKC.
The Thunder probably will not have an issue trading him. He already has been a part of trade talks — and rumors said he was going to be in the three-team deal involving the Knicks and Cavs, though he ultimately was not traded. His teammates have had problems with him this season and probably would not mind losing him.
Still, OKC will not just give him away. SI’s Chris Mannix says the Thunder want something for him in a trade and will likely match resonable offer sheets for him.
