Robert Swift arrested for alleged attempted armed robbery
Robert Swift was arrested for alleged attempted armed robbery on Tuesday, marking the latest incident in the former NBA center’s downward spiral.
Swift, who was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, was arrested by Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies for allegedly trying to rob a home near Gold Bar, Wash., in broad daylight.
KIRO says Swift and a 28-year-old accomplice put masks over their faces. A witness who called police reported seeing one of them holding a baseball bat, the sheriff’s office told KIRO.
Swift reportedly was armed with multiple weapons when he was taken into custody.
Back in November, Swift was charged with illegal gun possession after he was found with a sawed-off shotgun during a police raid at a home where he was living. The home was being used to grow and house drugs. Swift admitted to authorities at the time that he was addicted to heroin. He also reportedly told police he was on drugs when booked Tuesday.
Interestingly, Swift was booked into the King County Jail in Seattle because there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest after he missed a court date for the Nov. arrest.
Swift began living in the drug dealer’s home this year after he was forced to leave his disgusting, filthy mansion that was foreclosed. Swift is only 29, but his problems seem to only be getting worse.
