Robin Lopez throws epic shade at twin Brook for winning Player of the Week
Brook Lopez on Monday received his second straight Eastern Conference Player of the Week award, which is a pretty nice honor. Unfortunately he had his smart aleck twin brother around to bring him down a couple of pegs.
Robin, whose Trail Blazers were in Brooklyn for a clash against Brook’s Nets later that evening, threw some epic (sarcastic) shade at his twin for winning the award.
“It’s amazing how far you can go with a crappy center,” Robin jokingly said of his twin via the New York Daily News. “I guess he fooled the NBA for a couple weeks at least.”
According to the Daily News’ Stefan Bondy, Robin wasn’t content to just pick on his brother’s hoops game. He even jabbed his brother’s hairstyle.
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” Robin said of his brother’s hairdo, which is starting to replicate Robin’s fro. “Even though he obviously can’t quite pull it off with the charisma. He can always dream. He can aspire.”
The brothers had a few bets going to “spice things up” for the game, ranging from who would dunk on whom (Brook has won that in the past) and who would score more points.
As far as his comments about his brother go, they’re hilarious and pretty much what we’ve come to expect from Robin. After all, he had us in tears with his response to the Khloe Kardashian dating rumors.
