Ex-NBA player Sebastian Telfair’s mother, brother die due to coronavirus
The mother and brother of former NBA player Sebastian Telfair have died due to the coronavirus.
Telfair’s mother, Erica Telfair, died on Monday at the age of 64. The New York Post says the official cause of death was unknown. However, Stephon Marbury, who is Sebastian’s cousin, said in a March interview that Erica was battling COVID-19 after her son Dan Turner had died of it.
Sebastian’s brother, Ethan, previously disclosed on March 28 that his brother had died.

Sebastian Telfair, 34, was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2004 draft by Portland. He was a high school star in Brooklyn, and while he never quite lived up to his legendary status around New York, he still played 10 seasons in the NBA. Telfair was arrested on a weapons charge in 2017 and hit by a restraining order from his wife in 2018.
