Shaquille O’Neal is a big fan of Steph Curry and doesn’t hide that fact. And Curry’s big game on TNT Tuesday night led his big fan to ask a big question.

Curry scored 33 points and made six three-pointers while leading his Golden State Warriors to a 132-126 overtime win over the Boston Celtics. He hit a huge 3-pointer to ice the game (video here).

After the game, Shaq was talking with Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson and said it was time to include Curry in the discussion of best players of all time.

“I’m wondering if it’s time to start putting him in the best player of all time conversation,” O’Neal said.

Shaq said it’s time to include Curry in the conversation, and he explained why.

“This is why he’s my favorite player. I played 20 years. I watched 20 years before that. I’ve never seen a guy like him. He’s doing it consistently and he’s got championships,” Shaq said.

Smith disagreed with O’Neal and said that Curry should be in the conversation for being the best player at his position but not best player of all time.

“Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and then we start reaching,” Smith said of the list of best players.

Shaq said Kobe Bryant and Curry deserve to be in the conversation as well.

Curry is a 9-time All-Star, 2-time scoring champion, 2-time league MVP, 1-time NBA Finals MVP, and four-time champion. He’s also the greatest shooter in NBA history in terms of 3-pointers made and 3-point percentage.
