Following the passing of the legendary Muhammad Ali on Friday, tributes have been pouring in from all over the world. Prior to Game 2 of the NBA Finals, two former NBA players did their part to pay homage to the man dubbed “The Greatest.”
During NBATV’s pregame coverage, Shaquille O’Neal and Grant Hill wore black t-shits with “GOAT” on the front while on set with Matt Winer and Kenny Smith. They also took a few moments to reflect on the impact of Ali. Shaq called him a “hero” and Grant Hill recalled a time Ali visited with the 1996 Olympic team and how he was in awe.

A touching and reflective few minutes, indeed. Winer indicated there would be a moment of silence prior to the game to show respect for Ali.
