Report: Sixers want to keep Al Horford because of potential matchup with Bucks
Al Horford is one player who is likely staying put at the trade deadline.
Speaking this week on his podcast, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said that the Philadelphia 76ers “don’t want to trade” Horford due to the possibility of a matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs.
The five-time All-Star Horford starts at power forward for the Sixers alongside Joel Embiid, giving them a supersized frontcourt. That is length that they will need to match up against the NBA-best Bucks and especially their starting tandem of Brook Lopez and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Horford has not been entirely pleased with his role offensively in Philly this season, but the East will likely run through Milwaukee, giving the Sixers very good reason to keep him.
