Stephen Curry left Thursday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks in the third quarter with an abductor strain, but it appears the Golden State Warriors star avoided a serious injury.
On Friday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters that Curry got “encouraging” news from his MRI. However, he will sit out Saturday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, and it’s unclear how much time he will miss.

Kerr added that Curry is “bummed out” about the injury, but the team is confident it will not be a long-term issue.
The Warriors played Thursday’s game without Draymond Green and Shaun Livingston, both of whom missed the contest with a foot injury. Curry dealt with some nagging injuries last season that lingered into the playoffs, but they didn’t stop Golden State from repeating as champions. They’re hoping he won’t miss an extended period with his latest ailment.
