Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry offered a concerning quote about the hamstring injury that he suffered during Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Curry discussed his hamstring strain with the media on Thursday, and was asked if he was worried about trying to come back too soon from the injury. The star guard said that would not be a problem because of how severe the strain is.

Curry said he is still a ways away from returning, and noted that he cannot even take stationary shots right now.

Asked if he will get to a point where he will have to fight the urge to potentially try to come back too soon, Steph Curry said he is a ways away from that point. He said he isn't able to take stationary shots right now. Just doing "a lot" of treatment.

The Warriors plan to re-evaluate Curry in a week. That certainly does not guarantee he will return at that point, and his quotes suggest that timeline might indeed be optimistic.

Curry was in obvious pain after suffering the injury, and the Warriors ruled him out of Game 1 quite quickly. Golden State went on to win anyway, which could be very valuable if they have to play the bulk of the series without him.

The Warriors will be without Curry through at least Game 4. Based on his comments, it may be even longer than that, and the Warriors might be forced to get past Minnesota without much help from their superstar guard.
