Steph Curry tired of the Trae Young comparisons
Steph Curry spoke his mind on Monday night and admitted that he is tired of hearing Trae Young get compared to him.
Curry’s Golden State Warriors beat Young’s Atlanta Hawks 128-111. Curry made 6 of 10 threes for 30 points in the win, while the rookie missed all five of his threes and turned the ball over 7 times in the defeat.
Following the game, Curry said the comparisons to Young are “getting old.”

Curry’s point seems to be two-fold. One, it’s hard to compare a rookie to someone who’s a two-time league MVP. Two, he thinks players should be allowed to form their own identities.
Both of his points are well taken, especially since he faced similar comparisons to Steve Nash when he was younger. But as much as he’d like it to change, comps are not going away. That’s what we do. Fans and the media love to dream about what players can become, so they use existing players to help people visualize the possibilities. They may be unfair, but they’re fun and part of the game.
Young should be pleased about being compared to Curry though, because the comps could be much worse.
